There Are Just Too Many Available Units Right Now

I was excited about my new job, and I felt very confident in my ability to do it. I was hired on a few weeks ago to be the leasing agent for a large development company. There are three different complexes in the area with a total of nearly 2,000 apartments. While the complexes are nice, there has been a high availability for the last year in each one. I felt confident that I would be able to change that, especially with the leasing agent training that I have had in the past.

I have lived in apartments most of my life, so I know how to sell one. People who may turn up their noses at living in an apartment just don’t realize how nice one is along with all the amenities that most apartment complexes offer the tenants nowadays. I have taken specialized training courses in how to make them realize it, but that is not the only resource I use. There are a lot of online resources, and my favorite one is a website that is constantly updating their site with tips, hints, suggestions and a variety of other online resources for help in getting a lease signed the first time.

I know that I have a lot on my plate, because there are no less than 100 units available at each complex. There is one where that is nearly doubled. I have toured all three places myself, and I knew that the fault was not in the complexes themselves because I would live at any three of them. No, the fault lies in the inexperience of the forming leasing manager in the art of closing the deal. I don’t have that problem, and I have a feeling that people will need to sign up on a waiting list within the next year!
